Movies and moviestars of the 90s
Footloose on HBO (Kevin Bacon, Lori Singer, John Lithgow) kick started this. Followed by said movie above, where I got to see Viggo Mortensen's fleshy white buttcrack.(eew). Transamerica capped it off.
Nothing much to say about the flicks above. Just that the last two movies had scenes of women in full frontal nudity. And dont watch A History of Violence if you're not in the mood for some heavy, contemplation-inducing drama and real bloody gore. That particular scene where Ed Harris looks down on the guy with a bullet shot through the space between his eyes, his nose barely recognizable as his face was a splattered bloody mess. Yucky, but it was necessary for cinematic shock.
Hah. Recently HBO's been showing these old movies from 10 years ago or more. I never really got to appreciate them much, I was barely a teenager back then. But watching these now (Sleepers, The Firm, Footloose, and yes, Beethoven) makes me realize how much I missed the old days. Remember high waisted jeans andbaggy Hanes shirts tucked in? Leggings and Peasant Dress Shirts? Flat ballerina shoes? Denim pink skirts and tights? I used to wear that back in the 90s.
Anyway, this got me wondering whatever happened to the movie stars of the 80's and 90's?
You know, Jeanne Tripplehorn (The Firm), Lori Singer, Kevin Bacon, John Lithgow (who incidentally I just realized was the grandad(?) in 3rd rock from the sun when I saw him guest in Martha).
I googled some pics of them. See if you can still see some of that star quality that used to shine with such luster.
Lori Singer then. Girl Next Door Pretty.
and now, Daryll Hannah-ish washed up man-blond. Oh well, we all get old eventually.
Remember Winnie and Kevin from the Wonder Years?
Here they are now..
Winnie joined the sex sells bandwagon.
Fred Savage is a WASP
How Can anyone forget Doogie Howser? hahaha.
I think he's now in Malcolm in the Middle as
the eldest son.Plus,
Other 90's shows I used to watch: (warning these are totally campy stuff.
But it brings up soooo many memories of my childhood.)
Mr. Roger's Neighborhood (still love him)
Parker Lewis Can't Lose
Doogie, Wonder Years, Saved by the Bell (with mark-paul), Degrassi Jr. High
Small Wonder!!!! How can ever I forget?!
Kate and Allie, Mr. Velvedere
Gem and the Holograms (loved Pizzaz from the Misfits)
The Nanny
